Because he has a permanent resident card he was told that they would need to verify his immigration status (even though his card doesn’t expire until 2025). They said it would take a few days. We went on Monday, March 26th. How long more do we have to wait. I called INS and they said they never heard of motor vehicle having the need to check on someone with a valid permanent resident card. I tried calling the Oakland office and the number posted on the website is not valid. Please advise.
