My Wife and I recently moved back to Louisiana from Illinois , we have a 2012 Kia Optima car that we are trying to register in Loiisiana , We bought the car in HOUMA , LA. 70364 AT BARKER KIA DEALERSHIP NEW FROM THE LOT . we have had Insurance on the Vechile since the very first day we bought it on 04/16/2012 , we transfer Ins. from Geico from La. to a company in Illinois , we are now being tolld that Louisian does not recognize the company we went with in Illinois , as a result La. says we let the Insurance laspe and now have to pay $ 525.00 fine and fees to register the car . Where does Louisiana have the right to say that the Insurabnce Company we went with in Illinois is not recognized in Louisiana ???????/ Why does it matter ???? We HAD INSURANCE ON THE CAR AS REQUIRED BY LAW??????????

My husband died two days ago..I was sent a compulsory insurance letter regarding his insurance..his car was sold and we changed insurance to all state..how do I correct this so I dont get fined
